The use of operations research in natural resources management is an evolving research field with many application areas. The purpose of this special issue is to present the most recent developments of applied operations research methods for solving current problems in natural resources management. The special issue welcomes contributions on several areas like exact solution methods, heuristics, metaheuristics, matheuristics, simulation studies, and hybrid methods. A particular emphasis is laid on the (potential) real-world applications of the presented operations research methods. The topics include, but are not limited to:
